If any of the answers are unclear, or don't work, contact the Cavendish Customer Help Desk on 01273 615600 for advice, or e-mail support@cavendishcoms.co.uk, or use the "Support Enquiry" form.
1. How do I set the time?
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
Go to the Keyphone with "Admin Features" on the display (Admin phone). Select "Admin Features". Using >> scroll to set "Date & Time" and select. Enter date in displayed format - you will then be offered the time setting - select a.m or p.m. - then select "Accept".
When entering date or time you can select to clear or accept or simply overwrite at any point - all options are displayed. Admin phones have to be executive keysets (large display) to display all programming features.
2. I have a new member of staff. How do I change the extension name?
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
Go into ADMIN FEATURES on the Administrator's Keyphone:
- Scroll along to PROGRAM DATABASE
- Select STATION then enter the extension number
- Press ACCEPT
- Now press STATION INFO
- Press USER NAME
- Enter the name
- To delete a name that is already there press the MUTE button then enter the new name
- Press ACCEPT
3. Why is my keyset hissing?
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
It may be that Background music has turned on, without any background music connected into the system. To toggle this feature on or off, use feature code 313 (on a standard system numbering scheme).
4. Why has my keyset suddenly got all the wrong buttons and functions on it?
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
It may be that it has been defaulted by using feature code 394 (on a standard system numbering scheme). If this has happened then you may need to call an Engineer to reprogram it.
5. How do I put a feature code under one of my keyset's buttons?
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
Use feature code 397 (on a standard system numbering scheme) to program the button. If it comes up with "non-programmable key", it means that this is set on the system, and can only be changed by an Engineer.
6. Can I somehow have a list of all the speed dial numbers contained within the system?
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
Yes, but you will need to run a report off the system, so you would normally need an Engineer to do this, if you have not got System Administration capability. Sometimes we can do this remotely for you.
7. Can I forward my calls to an external number, say a mobile?
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
Yes you can, use feature code 355 (on a standard system numbering scheme), i.e. 355+ 8 for an outside line (or 9, dependent on your system numbering scheme), then the telephone number that you wish to forward to.
8. I plug a headset into my phone and it doesn't work properly
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
You need to set feature code 317 (on a standard system numbering scheme) to toggle on the headset mode. This disables the handset hook switch and calls can be handled using the answer and/or speaker keys.
9. My telephone system dials out using 8, instead of 9. Can it be changed to 9 for dialing out?
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
Yes it can, but this is a major reprogramming exercise, that only a trained Engineer should undertake.
10. The voicemail is it not working, what's wrong?
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
It may be the PC based voicemail system has locked up and needs resetting.
11. Can the system have automated day and night modes?
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
Yes they can, if you have an Inter-Tel Axxessory Voicemail, using "STAR"; applications, which are fairly complex and usually need an Engineer to set them up for you.
12. Calls ringing on my phone are not forwarding to my voicemail box
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
It may be that the system forwarding is turned off on your extension. Try turning it on using feature code 352.
13. Why does my voicemail greeting change occasionally?
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
There are 2 voicemail greetings in each mailbox, Primary and Secondary, be sure to choose the correct one when setting up your voicemail.
14. I get broken dial tone when I pick up the receiver of an ordinary telephone, not a keyset
Product range: Inter-Tel Axxess
This is probably a "message waiting" indication to let you know that a message has been left on your phone, probably by the voicemail system. You may need to access your voicemail box to pick up your message and to clear the message waiting indication.
